Ian Palmer (Chief Executive Officer) - Ian Palmer joined 3Di in September 2008 as CEO. Prior to joining 3Di, Mr. Palmer served as executive vice president at KVH Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq KVHI), from 2004 to 2008, and from 2000 to May 2004 as KVH’s vice president of satellite product sales. He served in a variety of sales and business management related positions at KVH from 1993 to 2000, during a time of rapid company growth. He received a B.A. in international relations and economics from Boston University.
Craig McDonald (Chief Operating Officer) - Craig McDonald began his career working for local government in the area of public safety services. He designed, developed and implemented a countywide emergency communications system for all public safety agencies in Monroe County, New York. Mr. McDonald went on to work for Astrophysics Research Corporation, a subsidiary of EG&G. He then joined Eastman Kodak Company. Craig also spent 10 years working as an adjunct professor for the Rochester Institute of Technology and the State University of New York where he taught courses in computer security, computer forensics, identity theft, and disaster recovery. He joined 3Di in January of 2007.
Dan Throop (Vice President, Strategic Business Development) - Dan Throop spent 26 years with Harris Corporation/ RF Communications before moving on to be the General Manager of Atlas Telecommunications in the United Arab Emirates for 6 years. In 2004, Mr. Throop left Atlas Telecommunications and was one of three founders that provided an integral piece to the formation of 3Di Technologies. Dan received a BS in Electrical Technology from The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1973.
Don Baker (Vice President, Special Projects) - Don Baker spent 20+ years overseas: 10 with Textron Defense Systems (Saudi Arabia), 5 years with GE/Ericsson in the Middle East, 2 years with Motorola in Saudi Arabia, followed by 6 years as VP Technology and Special Projects of Atlas Telecommunications in the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Baker left in 2004 to form 3Di Technologies. Mr. Baker was a BSEE Degree Candidate, University of Texas Austin in 1978, and received a BSET from University of the State of New York in 1990.
William Harrington, Vice President, Engineering - Mr. William Harrington joined 3Di in 2009 as the Director of International Business Development. Mr. Harrington brings over 20 years of experience in the communications industry leading successful teams in engineering, operations and business development. Prior to joining 3Di, Mr. Harrington was the VP of Operations where he also lead the government solutions team at Seamobile/MTN, providing managed solutions for maritime, land mobile, and special operations companies. Mr. Harrington is a former naval flight officer and graduate of the US Naval Academy Class of 1985. He holds a BS in Marine Engineering, MS in Electrical Engineering, MS in Astronautical Engineering and a Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineer's degree from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Ray Fuller, Director of Business Development, Asia and Americas - Ray Fuller joined 3Di in 2007 and serves as Director of Business Development in the Asia, Pacific and Americas regions and has over 25 years of experience in the field of mission critical communications, command/control, and land mobile radio through a distinguished career in the United States Navy. Prior industry experience includes seven years in the Land Mobile Radio division of Tyco Electronics as an Area Sales Manager. Mr. Fuller has a Bachelors degree in Aviation Management and a Masters degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He combines his military operational experience with his mission critical communications experience to further expand 3Di’s Technologies into the Federal, DoD, State, and Local Markets.
Darren Gibbons, Director of Business Development, EMEA - Mr. Gibbons joined 3Di Technologies in 2004 as a Senior Technician. As the organization expanded, so did Mr. Gibbons’ role. His previous work in-theater combined with his knowledge of the telecommunications industry makes him an integral part of the 3Di Team. From his service in Naval intelligence, to his domestic communications work and global sub-sea network design experience, Mr. Gibbons has stayed on the cutting edge of sensitive information technology throughout his 20+ years in the industry.
Matthew Anderson, Director of Business Development, U.S. and Government Defense -Matthew Anderson joined 3Di in 2010 as the Director of Business Development, U.S. and Government Defense. Prior to joining 3Di Matthew served as the J6, Special Operations Command Central from 08-10 and Commander, 25th Signal Battalion Qatar and Afghanistan 07-08. He also served as the Designated Approval Authority for the SIE-CENT and the USG supervisor for TACSWACAA in Qatar and Afghanistan. In addition, he served on the USG Committee for National Security Systems, OSD Enterprise Solutions Steering Group, Defense Information Assurance Program, Defense Critical Infrastructure Protection Program and the Department of Homeland Security National Communications System. Matthew was selected for the War College, is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a MA in Telecommunications.
Tim Winter (Director of Business Development) – Mr. Tim Winter joined 3Di in 2011 and serves as the Director of Business Development. Prior to joining 3Di, Tim was a Political Military Advisor on Cyberspace Operational Policy for the Chairman of the Joint Staff. Here, Tim developed and coordinated cyberspace policies and strategies for the Chairman and the Department of Defense. Additionally, he led interagency initiatives for the development of related strategies for the US government. Before his work on the Joint Staff, Tim was the Vice President of Operations for Eastern Petroleum, a downstream petroleum distributor. Tim sits as a director on the Board of the Minerallac Company and continues to fly as a Commander in the United States Naval Reserves. Tim graduated from the Naval Academy in 1995 as a Trident Scholar and has an MBA from Georgetown University.
